Uber Technologies Inc. (UBER) is launching autonomous food deliveries in the UK through a partnership with Starship Technologies, whose fleet of 2,700 robots operates at Level 4 autonomy. The service will debut in Leeds and Sheffield this December, with plans to expand across Europe by 2026 and the U.S. by 2027.

Customers ordering via Uber Eats will receive meals delivered by six-wheeled robots capable of navigating sidewalks without human intervention. Deliveries are completed within 30 minutes across a two-mile radius. Users unlock the robot’s compartment via the Uber Eats app upon arrival.

The MOVE accelerates Uber’s automation strategy, building on existing collaborations with Serve Robotics (SERV) and Cartken. Starship’s dominance in robotic logistics—covering 270 global locations—positions this as a scalable test for last-mile delivery infrastructure.
